You’ve had a great morning or day at the beach and are ready to eat. But where to go? Mallorca has many great restaurants with a range of cuisines for all the family. Here is a roundup of some of our favourites across the island.
Restaurants for families
Casa Manolo – Ses Salines
In the sleepy village where we are based, this friendly rustic spot is well-known for classic tapas, traditional dishes and fresh seafood. Try the platter of lobster, razor clams, mussels, prawns and much more. The kids’ menu includes homemade meatballs, “albondigas”, in tomato, chicken and 100% Iberian ham croquettes or squid rings for the more adventurous children. Locals and tourists love this place which has been an institution since 1945. Enjoy the outside terrace where you can watch the world go by.

Cafè Esment – Palma Nova
Not far from the beach, this chic café-restaurant with a large terrace serves traditional Majorcan food with a contemporary twist, Made with fresh, local ingredients, the seasonal menu offers Spanish-style starters, from croquettes to squid then rice dishes are a speciality but you could also have a burger or the classic fried eggs with chips and Iberico ham. Esment is an organisation that supports people with disabilities, so this is an all-around great cause. You’ll also find Esment in Inca and Palma.

Ponderosa Beach – Playa de Muro
Right on Playa de Muro in Alcudia, in the northeast of the island, this beach club and restaurant serves local cuisine and a great atmosphere right on the sand. The relaxed, open-air vibe is perfect for families, especially if you want to enjoy a swim before lunch. As well as Mediterranean favourites like tapas, seafood and, of course, paella, there is a kids’ menu with a mini fish dish—or chicken nuggets, if they prefer. Perfect if you want to combine a lazy day at the beach with a long lunch.

Ca’n Dimoni – Algaida
This one’s a bit of a wild card, but if your kids like the traditional “demonis”, otherwise known as the devils from the island, then they’ll really enjoy this place. For Mallorcan food in a rustic setting, Ca’n Dimoni, literally “house of devils”, is dedicated to the main characters of local festivals like Sant Sebastià. Masks cover the walls and sometimes a “demoni” is walking around in costume so you can take a picture. Note that traditional fare and barbequed meat are served—this place is not for vegetarians.
Restaurante Can Arabí – Binissalem
Finally, this Mallorcan-inspired kitchen is set on a beautiful finca in the heart of the countryside. It serves typical fare from the island, adding an original, creative spin to traditional flavours. From rice dishes to fresh fish and meat cooked on hot stones, there is something for everyone. There is also a kids’ zone so they can enjoy a play before or after lunch.
Hungry? We bet you are. We look forward to seeing you and your family soon when you can try out these wonderful restaurants that showcase the best of our cuisine.
